Laura Johnson and Zach Lucio will present “The Basic Standard of Care: The Reasonably Prudent Person Standard” on Thursday, March 21st from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
Most of us like to think we’re reasonable people, but compared to who? What does it mean to be a reasonably prudent person? In the legal context, the “reasonably prudent person” is a curious standard that refers to a hypothetical reasonably prudent person’s reaction to the actual circumstances alleged in a case and serves as a comparative standard for courts to assess liability. Laura and Zach will explore the interpretations, explanations, and implications of the reasonably prudent person standard when it comes to negligence claims.
