Kevin Mosley and Joel Radakovich will be presenting “Subrogation Considerations in Fire Sprinkler System Failures” at the upcoming Houston Claims Association CE Lunch & Happy Hour on May 14, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Karbach Brewing Co. in Houston, Texas.

The HCA’s 4-hour continuing education program features four one-hour CE courses focused on practical issues and strategies relevant to today’s claims professionals. Lunch is included during the program, followed by a networking happy hour with peers and industry professionals.

Kevin and Joel’s session will address subrogation issues that arise from fire sprinkler system failures, including freeze losses, drainage issues, corrosion, accidental discharge events, and the early investigation steps needed to protect recovery rights and preserve evidence.

Brad Gordon will be presenting “Everything You Say Can Be Used Against You: Depositions for Forensic Investigators” at the 2026 Terrence Hoyle Northern Zone Fire and Arson Training Conference hosted by the Illinois Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators on May 12, 2026.

Brad’s session will provide practical insight into how fire investigators and those who provide technical assistance to fire investigators can prepare for depositions, communicate their findings effectively, and navigate the litigation process with confidence.

Mark Grotefeld will be presenting “Sustainability and the Toll of Wildfires – Policy and Legal Discussions Addressing the Multitude of Pressures in California and Around the Nation” with John Allison from Eymann Allison, the Honorable Peter Lichtman from Signature Resolution, Kevin Orsini from Cravath, Swaine & Moore, and Ann Patterson from Stanford University at the 2026 National Wildland Fire Conference being held April 24 to 26, 2026 in Oceanside, California.

PLRB Presents is a series of dynamic, engaging short talks designed to help claims professionals build resilience, adapt to change, and prepare for what lies ahead in the industry. As part of the Redefining the Claims Experience track, Tim and Laura will offer practical insights aimed at improving claim handling and recovery outcomes.

Tim’s presentation will focus on how a well-crafted notice letter can set the tone for a successful subrogation claim. He will discuss what makes a notice letter stand out, why timing and delivery matter, and how thoughtful communication can prompt the right response from the right audience while still keeping the insured’s interests in view.

Laura’s presentation will explore creative ways to identify and unlock coverage in complex claims. She will address strategies for locating additional policies, navigating difficult contract provisions, and leveraging anti-indemnity statutes, willful misconduct provisions, and loan receipts to improve recovery opportunities through sharper investigation and stronger policy analysis.

Anooj Thakrar will be presenting “Sweet Home Subro: Making Recoveries Even When Tides Don’t Roll and Dogs Don’t Hunt” with Zachary Jett from Butler, Jeremy Jones from YA Group, Juliene Phelan from The Hartford, and Jason Wright from Arch Insurance at the National Association of Subrogation Professionals 2026 Spring Conference – Sweet Home Subrogation on March 19, 2026 at 2:45 p.m.
